Peter Obi visits Junior Pope’s family after burial
Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate, visited the family of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope after his burial. Junior Pope, whose real name is John Paul Odonwodo, passed away on April 10, 2024, and was laid to rest in Ukehe, Nsukka Local Government Area. The funeral service took place at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe. During the burial ceremony, various celebrities and dignitaries were present to pay their respects. Notably, Peter Obi signed the condolence register and offered his condolences to Junior Pope’s family.
Junior Pope was survived by his mother Maria Odonwodo, his widow Jennifer Odonwodo, and their three children. The actor’s tragic death deeply moved many in the entertainment industry and beyond. Among those who attended the funeral service were actors like Kenneth Okonkwo and a host of other Nollywood stars including Zubby Michael, Ruby Ojiakor, Linc Edochie, Queen Wokoma, Chinwe Owoh, Rita Edochie, and others.
After the burial ceremony concluded with prayers and emotional farewells, Peter Obi accompanied by Kenneth Okonkwo visited Junior Pope’s family to offer further condolences. This gesture highlighted the respect and support shown by prominent figures towards the grieving family during their time of loss.
