Lagos businessman allegedly rapes daughters, remanded in kirikiri
The businessman, Opeyemi Olanrewaju, was remanded in the Kirikiri Correction Centre for allegedly raping his two daughters. The Chief Magistrate did not take his plea and ordered the case to be adjourned until June 26 for legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution. The police charge Olanrewaju with rape after his wife caught him molesting their seven-year-old daughter and assaulting their five-year-old daughter between September 2021 and May.
In a separate incident, another man, Samson Adedokun, was remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter. The Magistrate directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice and adjourned the case until May 8.
Additionally, Ikechukwu Tony was ordered to be remanded in a correctional centre in Benin over an alleged attempt to rape a 50-year-old woman. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of rape and the case was adjourned until July 8 for further hearing.
Lastly, Stephen, a 37-year-old man, was remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Service for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter. The Chief Magistrate did not take his plea and ordered the case file to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice. The case was adjourned until February 13 for mention.
