Edo State Police Command has paraded a young girl, aged 19, for her role in kidnap of an elderly pastor.
Feigning she was crying and lying to the pastor that she was wife to member of his church, the girl tricked the man of God to open his gate, said state Commissioner of Police, CP Funsho Adegboye.
“She was crying that she needed help from the pastor that they should please open the gate for her and that she is the wife of one of the church members. That is the lie she told the pastor. As soon as the pastor opened the door for her, other members of the kidnapping group hijacked the pastor at gunpoint and took the man away.
“She saw one of the suspects giving the gun to her boyfriend. According to her, it was her boyfriend who lured her into this criminal activity. It is quite unfortunate that a 19-year-old girl! People should be careful,” the commissioner told newsmen.

However, the girl has continued to claim she was innocent on the ground that she didn’t join the criminal gang voluntarily but has been lured into it.
